Ministry: Russia’s wheat exports fall 24% to 20.3 mln tns by Jan 13
MOSCOW, Jan 17 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports decreased by 23.8% on the year to 20.3 million tonnes from the start of the current agricultural year on July 1, 2021 through January 13, 2022, the Agriculture Ministry said on Monday.
Total grain exports fell by 24.4% to 24.3 million tonnes, including exports of barley that contracted by 32.1% to 2.7 million tonnes, and corn exports that decreased by 24.3% to 1.1 million tonnes.
In the previous agricultural year, which ran from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, Russia’s grain exports amounted to 49 million tonnes, including 37.6 million tonnes of wheat. The grain export forecast for the 2021–2022 agricultural year stands at 45–48 million tonnes, according to the ministry.
